ABOUT GRACE & STEEL STUDIO

Grace & Steel Studio offers art & interior decor consultation in the Hudson Valley and beyond. Launched by Laura Diffenderfer in 2024, the studio emerged from a fascination with making everyday life more artful.

We believe good art and design are more than beauty and simplicity combined. A home that truly reflects your life and your spirit should revive you. It should make the hard parts of life just a little softer, the crazy parts more fun, and the good times transcendent.

You know the feeling. It’s in that special restaurant that you just loved being in; that family cabin on the water that you felt so free in; that childhood friend’s home that you felt understood in.

We want to help make your home that kind of place.

ABOUT LAURA

Founder Laura Diffenderfer brings her unique perspective and aesthetic to interiors. Developed alongside a career as a multidisciplinary artist and creative producer and marketer working with top dance artists, Laura’s work in design is an extension of her lifelong passion for the creative process.

In her interiors, personality, taste, utility, and place collide in surprising and wondrous ways, resulting in a one-of-a-kind home that is both functional and beautiful—and a distinct expression of those who live in it.

One of the driving factors in Laura’s life and work is a fascination with the kismet of collaboration—with the magic that occurs when people come together to make something meaningful. Whether it’s a design, a dance, or a dinner, the beauty of connection is that the result is always exponentially better than the sum of it’s parts.

Within the realm of design, this desire has led Laura to form an ever-expanding number of ties with contractors, artisans, and artists in the area. It has also resulted in several joint ventures, including a stall she runs at Hudson Warehouse with antique and decor curator & designer David Sharrod of Curate & Crate, with whom she also collaborates on interiors.

“I’d like to make your home feel so warm and uniquely you, that on those days when you might have forgotten yourself—even just a little—you come home and are reminded of who you really are.”

Let's make it crazy beautiful.
